Three years after Urban Koncept, this new acquisition strengthens Weblib’s expertise in digitalising spaces, making it a key player in wifi technologies in Europe.

Paris, 5 February 2020

Co-founded by Arthur Philbé and Florian Galby in 2009, Weblib develops software solutions dedicated to digitalising points of sale, public places and businesses. Smart Wifi is a cloud-based wifi hotspot management solution with marketing features.
Tab inStore is a software package dedicated to managing fleets of tablets. The company is helping brands such as McDonald’s, Total, AXA Banque, Uniqlo and Galeries Lafayette with their digital transformation.

Created in 2002, Ucopia is a software publisher offering a wifi access management solution that is internationally recognised as a standard in terms of security and reliability. Ucopia is the European leader in “high density” wifi, which can manage a very large number of simultaneous connections. As such, Ucopia solutions can be found in many high-traffic locations such as stadiums and concert halls, airports, company headquarters, universities, hospitals and hotels. For example, Ucopia equips the Stade de France, Disneyland Paris, Club Med and the Accor Hotels Arena.

“Weblib’s core value is innovation. Our technological lead enables us to stand out from the competition and win new markets. The acquisition of Ucopia strengthens our lead with the most powerful high-density wifi solution on the European market”,
explains Arthur Philbé, co-founder of Weblib and new Chairman of Ucopia’s Management Board.

Ucopia’s solutions are sold by 170 active partners, including Orange, AXIANS, SFR, HubOne, APIXIT and NXO. “The network of partners developed by Ucopia is a major asset that we will be drawing on to accelerate the marketing of the group’s solutions. These partners have already shown an interest in our Smart Wifi cloud solution, which complements Ucopia’s traditional solution. This partnership opens up attractive commercial prospects for them too”, says Florian Galby, co-founder of Weblib.

This announcement confirms Weblib’s objective of becoming the European leader in the digitalisation of points of sale, company headquarters and public spaces. Ucopia, which generates 15% of its sales in Germany, will enable the group to accelerate its international expansion.

“Weblib’s development strategy is based on two pillars: organic growth, supported by a constant drive for innovation, and external growth. Other acquisitions are under consideration. We are analysing targets with two objectives in mind: to strengthen our product portfolio with complementary technologies, and to expand into new countries or new sectors”, concludes Arthur Philbé.
