Meeting the legal obligations
UCOPIA allows organisations to comply with the obligation in force in France and throughout Europe for hotels to retain connection data for a period of 12 months in France (decree 2006-358) and for between 6 and 24 months in Europe (directive 2006/24/CE).*
To prohibit pirate connections
The Wi-Fi network does not stop at the walls of the school. Unscrupulous individuals in close proximity to the school can attempt to connect and undermine school information and users. In order to avoid this problem, all users must be authenticated.
Authentication and access to the applications according to profile (teacher, pupils…)
Pupils, teachers, administrative staff, parents of pupils, inspectors, service providers share the school network for teaching and learning, administrative or technical purposes. Each group does not have the same requirements or the same rights. Each user must therefore have a profile defined by the teaching establishment that precisely defines the user's rights (Internet, e-mail, internal applications, printers, …)

Dedicated room, equipped with all of the required IT hardware (Internet access, computers, printers, …)
- School Administration: Managing pupil data
- Parents : Access to grades, text books, administrative forms, canteen menus,...
- Authorities : Managing extracurricular activities and premises maintenance
*Decree 2006-358 dated the 24 March 2006:
Any organisation providing Internet access must be equipped to retain all session information (date of connection and identity of the user) and traffic information (sites and pages visited) in such a way as to be able to subsequently provide this data in the event of a criminal investigation. If the organisation is not able to comply, the legal representative may be subject to a 75,000 € fine and 5 years' imprisonment.
