The "hospitality" sector includes all organisations that provide their customers with a room or an apartment for a day, a week, a month or a year. For instance, this includes hotels, camp sites, marinas, holiday residences, hospitals and clinics, student rooms, senior residences. This represents approximately 100,000 clients in France alone and up to a million throughout Europe. All of these organisations have the same requirement to provide room services (telephony, television, Internet). The availability and cost of these services play an important role in customer choices, and can therefore be a source of differentiation. UCOPIA supports the French hotel industry and is a partner to the Committee for the Modernisation of the French Hotel Industry (CMHF). In April 2009, the CMHF launched a large-scale study amongst hotel industry customers.
