The marked requirement for remote mobile access on the part of students and university staff, and more generally the development of Wi-Fi networks, demand support for these new requirements within higher education teaching establishments :
  • The security of users and of resources accessible over the network,

  • The legal obligations : the obligation in force in France and in Europe for the authority that provides Internet access  to retain connection data for a period of 12 months (decree of the 24 March 2006),

  • Authentication : the applications to which a person will have access depend of his/her profile : student, lecturer, administrative staff, outside speaker, …

  • To be deployed and operated without constraints on sites that are often spread out over tens of thousands of m2,

  • Observance of the Renater Charter,

  • Inter-campus management of remote mobile access (ARREDU architecture),

  • Compatibility with other projects, such as the SUPANN directory, Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)
